Dave Mullaney is a manager leading RMI’s research on efficient transportation in China. His primary research focus is on measures that could reduce the cost and energy intensity of freight transportation. Those measure include shifting freight to more efficient modes of transport, optimizing the use of transportation resources through technology and logistics, as well as introducing NPV positive, energy saving technologies to improve the vehicles themselves. Dave has spoken at multiple conferences in China and published in Chinese journals on clean, efficient freight transportation in China.
Prior to joining RMI, Dave worked at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong and UBS in Stamford, Connecticut. At Deutsche Bank, he was a member of the Autobahn Equity trading team who provided high-speed automated equity trading tools to institutional investors, analyzed trade performance and consulted with asset managers on how they could use technology to optimize their trading. At UBS he worked in the exotic equity derivatives group. Dave has spent over five years living in Hong Kong and mainland China and has been learning Chinese for over 10 years.
