Prior to joining WRI, Jonathan was a senior adaptation specialist with the U.S. Agency for International Development, where he directly supported adaptation programs in more than 20 countries, promoted the integration of climate change across USAID’s broader portfolio, contributed to U.S. government policy engagement and partnerships, and developed guidance, tools and training. He is a coauthor of the Fourth National Climate Assessment and co-author of various books and publications.

在2012年加入美国国际开发署之前，他曾在世界野生动物基金会花了七年时间，包括与气候适应球队，宏观经济计划办公室和大湄公河项目在老挝的位置。
