Tyler Clevenger
Tyler Clevenger is a research assistant for the U.S. Climate Initiative. He works with members of the U.S. Climate Initiative to design and implement our strategic outreach plan. He helps broaden our U.S. engagement by reaching out to policymakers, businesses and other organizations. Tyler also works on strategic development for WRI U.S., researching external peer groups and scanning internal WRI work conducted on U.S. issues.
Tyler has engaged in policy work at a bioenergy company and in Congress, and has had journalistic experience at The Nation and at the Reykjavik Grapevine. Before joining WRI, he worked for an environmental consulting company. Recently, Tyler spent time researching and implementing sustainability improvements on-site in the foothills of Kilimanjaro at Tanzania’s largest coffee plantation. Before that, he spent a semester studying sustainability in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Tyler holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies (Policy Concentration) from Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
Having lived in the DC area since high school, Tyler is enjoying exploring new places with old friends and revisiting old favorites with new friends. He likes to play soccer, try new foods, have his heart broken by DC sports teams, and listen to, discover, and discuss music.
